Memorial Park/Birchmore Trail Habitat Restoration

Saturday, February 9th, 2019 from 9:00am to 12:00pm (ET)

About

Come be a part of making this lovely park a healthier habitat for all things native! The control of invasive non-native plants has been an ongoing effort at this 72-acre park. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced volunteers and to help continue this 10-year old project.

We will meet at the loading dock area of the zoo building - this is to the left as you face the buildings from the parking lot. There will also be signs that say "Weed Warriors" to direct you.
Come prepared to work hard and get dirty! We provide tools, herbicides, gloves, etc as well as water and snacks (please bring your own refillable bottle).

Volunteers will be working outdoors. Everyone will be working hard and getting dirty.  All volunteers MUST wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants and should dress appropriately for the weather.
