About

Austin Public Health (APH) and the Austin Asian Community Health Initiative (AACHI), with help from the Asian American Resource Center (AARC), present their annual Community Health Fair! This collaboration event aims to provide free health resources, screenings, and immunizations to the public, with a focus on Arabic-, Nepali-, and Burmese-speaking communities. See below for more information about the fair.

Volunteers are needed for this event! Roles include general support volunteers (indoor and outdoor), parking ushers, and waiting area attendants. Please see the listed shifts and their descriptions for more information.

While not a requirement, it would be helpful if volunteers can communicate in any of the following languages: Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Korean, Nepali, or Vietnamese. 


About the fair

There will be multiple organizations providing various health services and resources with a focus on helping underserved Asian ethnic populations, but anyone from the public is welcome to attend. Interpretation services in the above-mentioned languages will be provided to attendees. 

Services provided include vaccinations/immunizations, health screenings for vision, diabetes, blood pressure, and medication consultations. Resources provided will include mental health, health insurance, legal, financial, housing, and more.

Requirement Details
Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:45 AM for briefing and other information; the fair will open at 10am. Please dress comfortably and safely for the weather and being on your feet! Face coverings are optional.

Please see the "Documents" tab on the event page to view the Volunteer Release Waiver. If you are able, please print and sign it to bring with you for your volunteer shift!
