Get in the game and become a soccer coach! Make a difference in the lives of young athletes while having fun and helping children learn to love the game. No previous coaching experience is necessary.
Each spring and fall, the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department offers youth soccer to children ages 5 to 12.
Teams are organized by age.
The time commitment is approximately 2 hours per week for practices and/or games.
All coaches must complete a background check and attend a mandatory coaches clinic.
Volunteer tasks include:
1. Leading practices and games
2. Teaching the basic rules and fundamentals of soccer
3.Developing fundamental soccer skills
4. Encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive experience for all players
5 Creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young athletes
