About
This is the tenth year that the hard-working (and award-winning!) Weed Warriors will be tackling the invasive plants of Memorial Park. There is still much to do! And we are looking for new faces this year. Come learn from the experts and be a part of making this lovely park a healthier habitat for all things native.
This year we will work on the second Saturday of each month November through April from 9am to noon. We meet at the loading dock area of the zoo building - this is to the left as you face the buildings from the parking lot. There will also be signs that says "Weed Warriors" to direct you.
Come prepared to work hard and get dirty! We provide tools, herbicides, gloves, etc as well as water and snacks (please bring your own refillable bottle). Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt.
Join us in our continued effort to check the spread of highly invasive Chinese wisteria that currently infests the woods around the trail head. Our main focus will be to cut and treat vines that are climbing trees. These vines damage trees both by adding weight that causes limbs to break and by girdling trees of all sizes.
Come prepared to work hard and get dirty! Please where closed-toe shoes and long pants. ACC will provide all needed tools and materials as well as snacks and drinking water (please bring your own refillable bottle)
